Located on the 7th floor of our Seoul clinic, the Presbyopia Correction Center and the Cataract/Retinal Examination Center are equipped with advanced diagnostic technology and staffed by caring specialists ready to guide you through each stage of your visual journey.
Summary
Our 7th-floor Presbyopia Correction Center and Cataract/Retinal Examination Center provide tailored, technology-driven evaluations for presbyopia, cataracts, and retinal conditions. From guided intake and targeted testing (basic or comprehensive cataract exams and detailed retinal imaging) to private consultations, we outline options, including Presbyopia Viva ICL and multifocal cataract surgery. Early detection and personalized care help reduce reliance on reading glasses, clarify cloudy vision, and address floaters or flashes with English-speaking coordinators supporting international patients.
A Warm Welcome from the 7th Floor

Upon arrival, please take the elevator to the 7th floor. To your right, you will find the International Patient Reception Desk. This is where your visit officially begins. One of our English coordinators will greet and guide you through the following steps. You will be provided with a short pre-medical questionnaire to complete, which helps tailor the exam to your personal needs and concerns.
Each examination is tailored to your age, symptoms, and the reason for your visit. This ensures you receive the most relevant and accurate assessment.
Struggling with Reading Glasses? Discover the Presbyopia Correction Center
If you have noticed that reading glasses are becoming a regular part of your routine, or that it is challenging to read menus, use your phone, or focus on nearby objects, you may be experiencing presbyopia, a prevalent age-related condition that impacts near vision.

At our Presbyopia Correction Center, patients in the early stages of presbyopia who do not yet have cataracts may be eligible for a life-changing vision correction procedure: Presbyopia Viva ICL. This innovative lens-based solution can reduce or eliminate your dependence on reading glasses. After a series of tests, our medical team will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for this procedure.
Experiencing Cloudy or Blurry Vision? Visit the Cataract Examination Center
If your vision appears hazy, you are more sensitive to bright lights, or are struggling to see clearly even with glasses, it may be due to cataracts, a natural clouding of the eye’s crystalline lens that develops with age.

At the Cataract Examination Center, we offer two options:
• Basic Cataract Examination: Ideal for patients who are just beginning to notice vision changes and want to determine if cataracts are the cause.
• Comprehensive Cataract Examination: Designed for those contemplating same-day cataract surgery, this includes all the necessary measurements, lens selection guidance, and surgical readiness assessment.
Seeing Floaters or Flashes? The Retinal Examination Center is for You
Are you noticing sudden floaters, flashing lights, or experiencing dark spots or missing areas in your field of vision? These symptoms may be related to the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, and they should not be ignored.
At our Retinal Examination Center, we conduct detailed retinal imaging and field testing to detect conditions such as:
• Posterior Vitreous Detachment (common with floaters and flashes)
• Retinal tears or holes
• Lattice Degeneration
• Age-related Macular Degeneration
• Glaucoma-related visual field loss
Early detection is vital. Our retinal specialists will review your results and advise on treatment or monitoring, depending on the findings.
Personalized Consultation & Vision Plan

After your exam, you will have a private consultation with one of our expert medical staff members. They will clarify your results, answer your questions, and outline your best options, whether it is surgery, vision correction, or ongoing care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answer:
If you are struggling with near tasks or relying more on reading glasses, start at the Presbyopia Correction Center.
If your vision is cloudy or hazy, you are sensitive to bright lights, or glasses no longer help, visit the Cataract Examination Center.
If you notice sudden floaters, flashing lights, dark spots, or missing areas in your vision, go to the Retinal Examination Center—these symptoms should not be ignored.
Question: What happens when I arrive at the clinic?
Short answer: Take the elevator to the 7th floor and head to the International Patient Reception Desk on the right. An English-speaking coordinator will greet you, guide you through a brief pre-medical questionnaire, and direct you to tailored testing based on your age, symptoms, and goals (e.g., basic or comprehensive cataract exams, detailed retinal imaging). After testing, you will have a private consultation where a specialist explains your results and outlines next steps, such as Presbyopia Viva ICL, multifocal cataract surgery, or ongoing care.
Question: What is the difference between the Basic and Comprehensive Cataract Examinations?
Short answer:
Basic Cataract Examination: Suited for those just beginning to notice visual changes and wanting to confirm if cataracts are the cause.
Comprehensive Cataract Examination: Intended for patients considering same-day cataract surgery; it includes all necessary measurements, lens selection guidance, and a surgical readiness assessment.
Question: Who is a candidate for Presbyopia Viva ICL, and what if I already have a cataract?
Short answer: Presbyopia Viva ICL is for patients in the early stages of presbyopia who do not yet have cataracts and want to reduce or eliminate dependence on reading glasses. After a series of tests, the medical team confirms candidacy. If you already have a cataract, your options shift toward cataract surgery (including multifocal lens choices), guided by comprehensive measurements and consultation.

Short answer: No. Many patients in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond are good candidates for modern solutions like Presbyopia Viva ICL and multifocal cataract surgery. The team prioritizes personalized evaluation to match safe, effective options to your lifestyle at any stage of life.
